Print Methods Explained
Not sure which decoration method is right for you? We break down DTG, DTF, Screen Printing, and Embroidery so you can make the best choice for your project.

Print photos & complex art directly onto fabric
Direct-to-Garment (DTG)
DTG printing works just like your home inkjet printer — but for clothing. Specialized machines spray water-based inks directly into the fibers of the garment, creating prints that are incredibly soft to the touch. It's the go-to choice for detailed, full-color artwork, photographic images, or any design with lots of colors and gradients.
Best For
Small runs, detailed artwork, photo prints, unlimited colors
Advantages
- Unlimited colors — no extra cost per color
- Incredibly soft feel — ink bonds with fabric fibers
- No minimum order quantity
- Perfect for photos and complex gradients
- Eco-friendly water-based inks

Vibrant transfers that stick to almost any fabric
Direct-to-Film (DTF)
DTF is a newer and rapidly growing print method. Your design is printed onto a special PET film, coated with a hot-melt adhesive powder, and then heat-pressed onto the garment. The result is a vibrant, flexible, and durable print that works on nearly any fabric type — including polyester, nylon, and blended fabrics that DTG can't handle well.
Best For
Polyester & blended fabrics, dark garments, vibrant full-color designs
Advantages
- Works on virtually any fabric type
- Vivid, opaque colors on both light and dark garments
- No minimum order — great for small runs
- Durable and flexible — won't crack or peel easily
- No weeding or color registration needed

The gold standard for bulk orders & bold colors
Screen Printing
Screen printing is the oldest and most widely used garment decorating technique. Ink is pushed through a fine mesh screen (one per color) onto the fabric. The result is incredibly vibrant, opaque, and long-lasting prints. While setup costs make it less ideal for small runs, it becomes extremely cost-effective at scale — making it the preferred choice for events, merch drops, and team uniforms.
Best For
Large bulk orders (24+ pieces), bold 1–6 color designs, long-lasting prints
Advantages
- Most durable print method — lasts the life of the garment
- Vibrant, bold colors that pop even on dark fabrics
- Most cost-effective for large quantities
- Special inks available: metallic, glow-in-the-dark, puff, discharge
- Industry standard for merch & events

Premium stitched logos for a professional finish
Embroidery
Embroidery uses industrial sewing machines to stitch your design directly into the fabric with thread. It creates a textured, three-dimensional look that exudes quality and professionalism. Embroidery is the preferred choice for corporate branding, hats, polos, jackets, and anything where a high-end aesthetic matters. Unlike printing, it won't fade, crack, or peel over time.
Best For
Hats, polos, jackets, corporate wear, logos & wordmarks
Advantages
- Premium, professional appearance with real texture
- Extremely durable — thread doesn't fade like ink
- Ideal for structured garments like hats and jackets
- Wide thread color selection
- Timeless, classic aesthetic
